As a team they are basically his family. The Shadow game just cemented it. He wants them to be happy, healthy, and safe, and will go to extreme measures to do so (cry wolf game.) He doesn't really want to shove other teams down for them but if he has to he'll do it without thinking about it in hopes that they'll understand. I mean it's just... his family? Aoba did pretty much ANYTHING for his granny in canon and that is basically the way Yarrow feels about Dawon.
He would take on an army of brainwashed controlled morphine members and associate with dangerous individuals (Mink) for Dawon if that isn't true family I don't know what is.
